March Challenge – Interesting Perspectives – Los Angeles Photographer

This month our challenge was to work on interesting perspectives. I thought I might miss this post this time around for lack of planning, but when I learned my brother would be here for one extra day and he was willing to adventure along with me, I hopped on the opportunity.

Now, I envisioned tunnels and long stairways, dirt roads on mountaintops, beautiful bridges enveloped in fog… Alas, the flat concrete jungle afforded me (at least in the last minute) none of those. So, I picked a spot to explore and waited for inspiration. These perspectives may not be too original or mind-blowing (dang it!) but I had fun playing around and enjoyed having a willing subject.

The green on the dome created quite the color cast and I could not get rid of it. My brother says these remind him of The Little Prince on his tiny planet. I think he’s right.

The pictures at the bottom were at Union Station in downtown LA. I tried to get a vanishing point shot with my son going through the ticket gates but realize the gates are distracting, however attractive. The 2-dimensional “flat” shot of my daughter is a filler image but I like it juxtaposed with all the perspective shots.

Enjoy!
