Today I was lamenting that once again I brought the wrong lens for our trip. I wished I had my tilt shift, I wished I had a 300mm, I wished I had a super wide angle… At first, I was going to only bring my phone as I was traveling very lightly with our three children. Then I decided to bring one lens and borrowed a 35mm from my SIL. In the end, I used my phone almost exclusively. Then I lamented that we’d be touring Paris during the bright hours of the day, because with three children I wouldn’t be waking early or staying out late. Well, I decided to see this more as a challenge and to use it as a lesson. As they say, the best camera is the one you have in your hand, and a good photographer learns to use what light she has.
