The New-Do

I hoped to snap a picture of my hair before I washed it and tried styling the ‘do myself; alas, getting thrown-up on by sick boy all day kept it from happening.

So, here it is after I styled it as much as I could while having a sick child in my arms. In between cries of “this hurts,” “I have to go to the bathroom,” and “Mommy, I waaaaaaaant you,” I managed to get a quick self-portrait in. And voila! you can now see my new hair (so you don’t get shocked when you next see me in person.)

With regards to my hair, I’m just having some fun over here. My dresser drawers are yellow and white (have I mentioned how in love with yellow I’ve been since Summer?), my walls are turquoise – or a shade there-of, the kids’ playroom is rainbow-striped, I’m getting ready to wallpaper one of my living room walls… This is GREAT therapy! Hopefully, soon I will post some pictures of the changes that are going on around our house. Now that I’m jumping out of my box, I’m really enjoying the home we are finally creating.

And, of course, that should explain the hair!

Oh, the kids’ reactions were priceless! I left them with my parents and when I came home, Thomas came running toward me saying, “Mommy! Mommy! Mommy!” and then about 2 feet away from me he stopped and just stared at me. He even started to BACK away. I had to convince him I was still his Momma. Isabel – well, she didn’t want to look at me. “Nope! I will not look at you, Momma!” she said as she turned her head away from me.

Thankfully, they have finally broken down and allow me to hug them now.

“For each new morning with its light,
For rest and shelter of the night,
For health and food, for love and friends,
For everything Thy goodness sends.”

– Ralph Waldo Emerson
