Surprise visit by Jannie, Aunt Mary, Francie and Maisie!

Awww, am I a lucky sister-in-law or what? Yesterday Mary and I are texting back and forth (she’s been great about keeping up-to-date and cheering on my labor!) and then she says her Heff wants to speak with mine. She changes her mind, though, and says “I’ll just tell you.” They wanted to come and surprise me with a day visit to pamper me and spend time with us. Am I up for it? OF COURSE! So, the girls grab their bags, bring Jannie along with them and fly down to get some quality time together. It was such a treat!

My mom came and joined us for a yummy and fun lunch, we all walked down the Manhattan pier to look at some fish (and took Jannie down memory lane), the girls got their naps in, ate some blue cupcakes and we all just had a blast. It is something else to see the girls get together: they’re changing so fast; interacting more; and love each other – we are so happy that they can have this relationship. So, we are thinking of alternating monthly day-trips to keep this going. Won’t that be fun, girls?

Now, what I’m really hoping for is that all this excitement will start my labor! Jannie gave me a good recipe to get it going, but perhaps I will not share it online as some may “tsk tsk” me. Jannie, I will let you know if it works! 😉

Family of Three and a Soon-to-Be!

It’s funny because I catch myself saying, “yeah, I need to clean the kids’ closet” or “when we do this with the kids” and then it’s like WHAM! KIDS! You know, one really is no big deal, it is still quite quaint and you are still quite mobile. Then suddenly you realize you’re going to start having a brood.  Just the word conjures up a wave of different feelings and images of a noisier and busier family life. Well, I CAN’T WAIT! Bring it ON! Can you tell that I’m ready???
