Elise Maria Heffernan – Our Angel

3 weeks ago tonight our daughter, Elise Maria Heffernan, was born. I don’t have the perfect words for our beautiful angel just yet, and it is likely my words will never be enough. But until I get there I wanted to share just a little bit about her with you.

Elise Maria Heffernan

June 27th, 2011 – July 5th, 2011

6lb-3oz, 19 inches long

She was perfect in every way…

Here is a slideshow I put together for her visitation. Elise was here for just a short time but she touched so many hearts, more than some will in a lifetime, and is loved so very much. We miss her terribly and cannot wait to see her again one day when we join her in Heaven. Until then she remains Our Angel.

My sister-in-law, Mary, wrote a beautiful post about Elise and their experience on her blog. It gives a loving Aunt’s perspective – thank you, Mary, for writing it.

And I know this is not the proper way, but we want all of our families and friends to know how thankful we are for them, for making these last few weeks even just a little bit easier. Your love, comfort and support mean the world to us.

Until my fingers hit the keyboard again, Good night.

I read about your BEAUTIFUL angel on your sister-in-law’s blog. You are surrounded by many wonderful people and now your beautiful Elise Maria will no doubt watch down on all of you from above. With heartfelt condolences, I wish you and your family the much needed peace, strength and love to get through this very difficult time.ReplyCancel

Such a beautiful child! The video is wonderful, but heart wrenching. Your acceptance of your loss and the grace with which you handled it makes me proud to have such amazing family members. Love you all.ReplyCancel

Andrea, you and your family have been on my mind a lot. I am hoping and praying that your tomorrows are better than your todays. None of our lives will ever be the same for the life that Elise shared with us all. Thank you for sharing her with all of us during her life and then allowing us to share in sending her to her earthly home. We love you all. We’ll see you soon.ReplyCancel

Andrea and Craig, thanks for allowing us to meet little Elise. While she was only with us a short while, she made a very big impression on us. She is beautiful in every way. She reminded us how important our family is, and how lucky we are to have so many great aunts, uncles, grandparents and COUSINS. With your beautiful photos we will be able to remember over the years that the children of this big loving family are our most important priority. Thank you Elise- you will not be forgotten.ReplyCancel

Andrea, I was in Manila, Philippines and was not able to be there for you for Elise’s services but do know that I have said my prayers and whispered to the clouds to take her to a very pleasant trip. I pray that you and your family are coping and held together by the bond she would have wanted you to keep. From a mother to a mother, my hugs…. Melita Temple, RNReplyCancel
