July – Every Day Moments – Los Angeles Photographer

Our clan has been kept quite busy this June and July. Between trips visiting friends and family and birthday parties, we have tried to do our regular summer fun and enjoy the little time that we have here at home. Our every day moments have included multiple trips to the beach, playing in our gardens (and finally beginning to harvest the fruits of our labors!) and packing and unpacking.

We have slowed down with our homeschooling studies – Isabel reminds me that everyone has the summer off; I remind her that we don’t do school 5 days a week like everyone else. But I can see how summer time off leads to many “I forget” moments, so we try to do lessons here and there whenever we are home or even on the road.

This year we finally got our tiny little caterpillars and watched them morph into beautiful butterflies. It has been a thrilling and exciting process for the kids to watch. Did you know they bleed when they unravel from their chrysalis? And that their tongues are like long little curly cues? I had no idea how quickly they grow and metamorphose! (Mommy’s learning, too!)

June gloom was kind to us this year, but it seems only to have shifted to July. My dahlias have just begun blooming – 2 years ago my garden was overflowing with them. Our grapes and tomatoes are finally ripening, and I’m doing my best to keep little fingers from plucking fruits and veggies off too soon. Fortunately, there is no real shortage so a few grabs here and there are okay.

Here are a few captures of what we’ve been up to. Oh, and Ilus started walking 1 week before her first birthday, and now she is working hard on her running – running away from Mommy, that is!

Please continue through the circle and visit Nina Mace to see her every day moments here!
